Atlantis

The car bumped along the road towards the red bricked house. Amy and Max sat in the back, huge smiles stretched onto their faces. Max was listening to music. He nodded his head to the beat. Amy, on the other hand was reading ‘The Alchemist’. The car screeched to a halt.
They had arrived. The huge farmhouse stood, as if it were a king, occupying as much space as possible. Max and Amy stepped out of the car, which gleamed in the glare of the sun. The farmhouse stood, about twenty metres away. It seemed to be towering over them, as they rang the doorbell. A man with grey hair, who was well into his sixties, answered the door. He smiled and greeted them. They stepped into the house. The room was cool unlike the outside. Uncle John and Aunt Mary came and they gave them a warm hug. Aunt Mary asked Alfred to get them ‘The Surprise.’ Alfred hurried into the kitchen and came out holding a plate. Steam rose off the edges and he placed it on the table. For a second Max and Amy just looked at each other, then they attacked. Max wolfed down most of the pancakes. They were then led by Alfred to their rooms. As soon as they were alone, Amy suggested they should explore the house. After all, it was quite amazing. They opened the door and tiptoed out. They looked around the house and then moved forward. An old rusty door stood on their right and a flight of stairs led downstairs. They opened the door and were surprised to see a long corridor, that went on and on. They moved in the passage and shut the door behind them. Max took out his phone and turned it on. The faint light illuminated the way ahead.
Slowly they walked on and on. They finally found a door and opened it. Daylight poured through. They emerged through the door and into a street. They walked into the building and saw a library spread out in front of them. They saw a row of books and they were about to pull one out of the shelf when a voice came from behind them. They spun around and froze.
A man stood there in a grey coat. He smiled and led them to the reception. He asked them where they had come from and they replied New Jersey. The man said that there was no such place. Amy and Max didn’t know what to do. There was no way back so they decided to live there.
The man walked upto a house and said that, that was their house. They lived there happily and soon found out that they were in the lost city of Atlantis.
