IT GIVES ME THE CREEPS!

The car bumped along the road. George and Amy sat in the back. They were bored. Occasionally George would try to strike up conversation but "Knock it of dummy", was the only answer he'd get. Finally, they arrived.
George stepped out of the car, all shades and everything. He wore a t-shirt and rumpled shorts. He had spiked, short, ice-blond hair. Amy on the other hand wore a leather jacket, camouflage pants and combat boots. The only simarity between them (brother and sister by the way) was that they both looked BORED. And when I say BORED I mean REALLY BORED! Anyway George stood on the front porch, Amy stomping after him, muttering words that would earn her a good week's suspension at school. She rang the doorbell. It was answered by an elderly man in his late forties. Max, the butler.
"Ohhhh....." he groaned, trying to hide his disappointment. "Come in, come in, your grandparents have been waiting." He led them in to the living room. A few lounge chairs had been set up and now their grandparents  were slumped on the chairs.
"Ahhhh, if isn't for Nancy and old Johnny boy", a withered old man cried.
Exasperated and shaking her head Amy corrected,"Amy and George! I have told you a billion times it's Amy and George! Get it? Not whatever you..oh forget it!"
George glared at her." Shut up Amy! They are our grandparents not our baby sisters!" he scolded.
Amy was just about to say something smart when, wagging a bony finger Grandpa interrupted,"Stop it both of you! Just forget about it. Now for your rooms."

After an awfully large dinner of about a few hundred things, they staggered up the steps to their rooms. Fortunately George wasn't able to sleep. He decided to explore the old house and sprinted up the steps to the attic. As he walked in he made an amazing dicovery. The lights were all on! Plus, standing there, leaning against what looked like a treasure chest was a tall thin girl about 13 years of age . It was Amy.

"What on earth are you doing here at this time of the night!" exclaimed George. "I thought you were asleep!"
"Well pretty much the same as you", she revealed.
"What's that?"
"Duh brother."
"Chest?"
"Why did you ask?"
He laughed. "Keys?"
"Coudn't find any", she admitted, a bit embarrassed.
"Wop, there we are."
Amy followed George's gaze and saw a map.
"That is so not the key", she frowned."But wait, it's a map leading to it!"
"Exactly my point. Now, all we have to do is find it.

They followed the path down the garden but, once again they were lost in the enormous house. "It says here on the map that it should be lying somewhere here. See, X marks the spot", George explained.
Amy slapped him hard across the face.
"Hey, what was that for?" said George glaring at his sister. He fought back the urge to slap his dumb sister.
"Isn't it to easy? Obviously it would be buried somewhere like all treasures dummy!"
George struck a pose and stuck out his hand. "Shovel?"

By the time they finished digging, they were covered from head to toe in the mud and the muck and the dust and the dirt. They were filthy and their socks and sneakers were stinky and holy. They were sweaty, their nails were filled with dirt and most of all they yet were spitting out mud. With both his hands George held the key above his head and stumbled towards the house, Amy limping behind him. As they ascended the stairs, Amy made a sudden dash to the attic. Snatching the key from George, she thrust in the keyhole of the treasure chest. This time George was the one who shoved her aside. He twisted the key and the latch clicked. It swung open. They looked in. They oohed and aahhed. They saw pile and piles of gold x100 shining back at them. Well, about time too; they fainted on the spot.

With their riches they bought a few thousand things and lived happily ever after.
[I love these standard, dopey endings. They seem to excuse any thing you want to say.]
