The Half-Dead Hero
Sir Robert whipped his horse. It neighed and wildly galloped forward, down the hill, towards the safe house. It stopped so abruptly at the entrance that he nearly flew off. He grabbed the reins to steady himself , let go and then swung himself off. Narod, his most trusted advisor, greeted him at the door.
"Sir," he said. "You must see this remarkably horrifying thing." They walked in and Narod flicked his wrist. A holograph formed in front of the him. It was of the city.
A red bar shot upwards out of a an old abandoned building. Sir Robert tapped it twice and names, pictures, videos, recordings, articles and names of people and their files appeared.
"A kidnapping," explained Sir Robert. "OMG. Caleb and Gillian held hostage at the building." The building was five miles east of the safe house. He could make it in time before their execution if he hurried.
Narod merely folded his arms and walked away to open the weapons' shed.

Narod had stayed behind. Sir Robert patted his horse on its back and it set off, back on its way to the safe house. He pulled out two pistols; both his favourite, Browning HS. Sir Robert. A witch called Snella, strolled out the glass double doors of the building. Our hero ran towards her, grunting.
Snella just laughed and cried, "Siso Robeto!'
Sir Robert flew backwards, hitting a wall. He slid down and slumped on the floor. Snella pulled out a staff and cackled. As she ran towards this valiant man, she realised he wasnt dead yet. His eyes flickered open and he got up, sidestepping her attempt at a kill. She stumbled and regained her balance. But Sir Robert was to fast. He smashed the butt of his gun into her jaw. Snella fell flat on the ground. She got up. CLICK! BANG! Sir Robert shot a few rounds of the Browning at her. The bullet didn't penetrate but the force of the impact knocked her off her feet. Snella flew backwards flapping her arms, thinking that just maybe, she would start to fly. But no. Unfortunately, not even Snella could fly. SPLAT! She hit the wall, flat on her face.
"How dare you," shouted a girly, shrill voice from behind him. "You killed my dear Snella. I am Nelly the Great and i shall kiiiill you."
She raised her hand and aimed her palm at Sir Robert. A beam of turquoise blue electricity hit Sir Robert in the chest. He flipped backwards and hit a pile of canisters containing oil. Crimson blood spewed forth from his wound and he cried out. Then it hit him. The canisters. Light bulb.*
Sir Robert seized a canister and hurled it at Nelly. As it flew, Sir Robert emptied his guns on the canister in midair. BOOM!
Nelly covered her face with her hands and shielded herself from the blast. However, she was trapped. A circle of fire surrounded her. She sobbed.
That'll keep her busy for a few minutes he thought.
Sir Robert chuckeed him empty guns over his shoulder. One hit Snella. The other hit Nelly in the face. Both really good. Bullseye. He couldn't believe his luck.
Not only that but the doors were made of glass. His guns were empty so...........
With all his might, Sir Robert threw himself at the doors. They shattered. He walked swiftly but stealthily. There was a loud crunch as he stepped on a shard of glass.
A dragon emerged from the cell and he backed away. Wrong cell. He swore with words that would have earned him a good beating from Narod or his mother.
Sir Robert produced a knife. The dragon began running towards him. He threw the knife. It sliced through the air. But missed. What rotten luck! 'Cause the fact was Sir Robert had no other weapons. He stuffed his hands into his pockets and rummaged inside for a gun or anything that might help. But all that was there was his lucky pirate ring and a picture of him in a frilly pink dress from an 'I Dare You' party. And a bone for his wolfhound. Sir Robert grinned at the dragon and then hurled the bone over the fence. The dragon flew over the fence and caught the bone. It began digging at ground to hide the bone. He couldn't believe his luck. Sir Robert sprinted along the corridor peering into each cell. He tripped over a flower pot and found the key hidden underneath it. Finally he arrived at a small. He fit the key in the lock and turned it.
"Oh, thank the gods its Robert", he heard Gillian squeal from inside.
"Pony power", shouted Sir Robert, delirious from the loss of blood.
"Horse", corrected Caleb, a muscular man with a ripped suit from inside.
"Whatever", said Sir Robert. "Horsepower!"
His horse materialised above them and they galloped to hospital.
